What kind of band is Memphis Train Revue?

Memphis Train Revue is a dance band. We play mostly R&B, soul, funk, Motown, Disco and jazz music. However, these terms mean different things to different people. For example, some people consider our version of “Proud Mary” (the Ike and Tina Turner version) and “Play that Funky Music” (by Wild Cherry) to be rock songs. Similarly, some people consider “Can't Take My Eyes Off of You” by Franki Valli and “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra to be popular music or big band music. To get a great idea of the music we play and to attach your own name to it, take a look at our song list. If you purchase a “Gold” package, we will learn up to 2 songs for you, no matter the genre. Also, if you would like greater variety or specific songs, we can serve as DJ during our breaks and play whatever you like from the Macarena and the Chicken Dance to Country-Western, Electronica, Top 40, '80's one-hit-wonders, heavy metal, etc.
